क्वासि यन्ता महाकाय क्षुधिताया ममेप्सितः ।
भक्षः प्रीणय मे देहं चिरमाहारवर्जितम् ।

Kvāsi yantā mahākāya kṣudhitāyā mamepsitaḥ . Bhakṣaḥ prīṇaya me dehaṃ ciram-āhāra-varjitam .. 5.58.39 .. ॥5-58-39॥
Translation
"Where are you going, O huge-bodied one? You are desired by me, who am hungry. Satisfy my body, which has been without food for a long time, with your being as food."

"हे विशाल शरीर वाले! तुम कहाँ जाओगे? तुम भूखी मुझे बहुत प्रिय (इच्छित) हो। मेरे शरीर को, जो बहुत समय से भोजन से वंचित है, अपने (मांस रूपी) भोजन से तृप्त करो।"
English Commentary
Simhika reveals her predatory nature. She addresses Hanuman as Mahākāya (one with a huge body), not out of respect, but out of gluttony; she sees a substantial meal. She claims he is ipsitaḥ (desired) by her. The verse highlights the primal motivation of the demoness: hunger. She demands that Hanuman satisfy her body which has been ciram-āhāra-varjitam (long deprived of food). This reflects the existential threat she poses—she is a consumer of life, an entropy that seeks to devour the energy of the mission. By asking "Where are you going?", she asserts her control over his path, mistakenly believing her shadow-trap is inescapable. It sets the stakes: kill or be eaten.

सिंहिका अपनी मंशा स्पष्ट करती है। वह हनुमान जी को केवल 'भक्ष' (भोजन) के रूप में देखती है। 'महाकाय' कहकर वह हनुमान जी के विशाल शरीर की पुष्टि करती है, जो उसकी भूख मिटाने के लिए पर्याप्त है। यह राक्षसी प्रवृत्ति है—दूसरे के अस्तित्व को केवल अपने उपभोग की वस्तु समझना। वह कहती है कि वह लंबे समय से भूखी है, जो उसकी क्रूरता और अधीरता को दर्शाता है। हनुमान जी जैसे महापुरुष, जो जगत कल्याण के लिए जा रहे थे, उन्हें रोकने और खाने का प्रयास करना घोर पाप और अज्ञानता है। सिंहिका का यह कथन उसके विनाश का निमंत्रण है, क्योंकि वह उस शक्ति को ललकार रही है जिसे वह समझ नहीं पा रही है।
