न च मां साधु बुबुधे मम वा निकृतं कृतम् ।

Na ca māṃ sādhu bubudhe mama vā nikṛtaṃ kṛtam .. 5.58.41 .. ॥5-58-41॥
Translation
She did not understand me correctly, nor did she perceive the trickery/strategy I had enacted.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह न तो मुझे ठीक से समझ पाई और न ही मेरे द्वारा किए गए छल (रणनीति) को जान पाई।
English Commentary
This verse serves as the narrator's commentary on the opponent's ignorance. Simhika failed to comprehend (na bududhe) the true nature of Hanuman. She mistook his expansion for a desperate defense or merely a larger meal, rather than a tactical trap. The phrase nikṛtaṃ kṛtam refers to the deception or trickery Hanuman employed. While she was focused on matching his size, she missed the subtlety of his intent. It highlights the difference between brute force and strategic intelligence. Simhika was reacting instinctively to hunger; Hanuman was acting deliberately with a plan. Her inability to perceive his strategy was the direct cause of her downfall.

यह एक संक्षिप्त लेकिन महत्वपूर्ण श्लोक है जो राक्षसी बुद्धि की सीमा को दर्शाता है। सिंहिका आकार में तो बढ़ रही थी, लेकिन बुद्धि में हनुमान जी से हार गई थी। 'न च मां साधु बुबुधे'—वह हनुमान जी के वास्तविक स्वरूप और क्षमता को नहीं समझ पाई। उसे लगा कि यह केवल आकार का खेल है। 'निकृतं कृतम्' का अर्थ है हनुमान जी द्वारा किया गया छल या कूटनीति। हनुमान जी का शरीर बढ़ाना केवल दिखावा था, असली वार तो अति सूक्ष्म होकर करना था। शत्रु जब अहंकार में अंधा होता है, तो वह सामने वाले की चाल नहीं देख पाता। सिंहिका का ध्यान केवल भोजन पर था, मृत्यु के जाल पर नहीं।
