न त्वं रामस्य सदृशो दास्ये ऽप्यस्य न युज्यसे ।
यज्ञीयः सत्यवादी च रणश्लाघी च राघवः ।
।
॥५-५८-७२॥
Na tvaṃ rāmasya sadṛśo dāsye 'pyasya na yujyase । Yajñīyaḥ satyavādī ca raṇaślāghī ca rāghavaḥ । । ॥5-58-72॥
Translation
You are not equal to Rama; you are not even fit to be His servant. Raghava is one who performs sacrifices, speaks the truth, and is glorious in battle.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तू राम की समानता नहीं कर सकता, तू तो उनकी दासता (गुलामी) के भी योग्य नहीं है। राघव (राम) यज्ञ करने वाले, सत्यवादी और युद्ध में श्लाघनीय (प्रशंसा के योग्य) हैं।
English Commentary
This is the ultimate insult to Ravana’s pride. Sita declares that he is not only unequal to Rama but unworthy even of being his servant (dasya). She contrasts Ravana’s nature with Rama’s three cardinal virtues: spiritual devotion (yajniya), moral integrity (satyavadi), and martial honor (ranashlaghi). By defining Rama through these virtues, she illustrates that true greatness comes from Dharma, not just brute force. This establishes Rama’s moral superiority and completely dismisses Ravana’s status as a king or conqueror.

यह सीता के संवाद का सबसे तीखा अंश है। रावण, जो त्रिलोक विजेता होने का दम भरता है, उसे सीता राम के 'दास' होने के भी अयोग्य बता रही हैं। वे राम के तीन गुणों—धर्म (यज्ञीय), सत्य (सत्यवादी), और शौर्य (रणश्लाघी)—की तुलना रावण के अधर्म, झूठ और छल से करती हैं। यह तुलना केवल शक्ति की नहीं, बल्कि व्यक्तित्व और चरित्र की है। सीता जी का कहना है कि जहाँ राम धर्म के शिखर हैं, वहीं रावण अधर्म की खाई है, इसलिए दोनों की कोई तुलना ही संभव नहीं है।
