देवगन्दर्वकान्याभिरक्षकन्याभिरेव च ।
सार्धं प्रभो रमस्वेह सीतया किं करिष्यसि ।

Devagandharvakanyābhiryakṣakanyābhireva ca । Sārdhaṃ prabho ramasveha sītayā kiṃ kariṣyasi । । ॥5-58-77॥
Translation
"O Lord! Enjoy yourself here with the daughters of Devas, Gandharvas, and Yakshas. What will you do with Sita?"
हिंदी अनुवाद
"हे प्रभो! आप यहाँ देवकन्याओं, गंधर्वकन्याओं और यक्षकन्याओं के साथ रमण (क्रीड़ा) करें। (इस मानुषी) सीता को लेकर आप क्या करेंगे?"
English Commentary
Mandodari continues her strategy of distraction. She reminds Ravana of the celestial beauties already in his harem—women of divine lineage (Devas, Gandharvas). By contrasting these celestial beings with Sita (implied to be a mere human), she tries to make Sita seem unworthy of his attention. Her goal is to pivot his mood from murderous rage back to pleasure-seeking, thereby diffusing the immediate threat to Sita's life.

मंदोदरी रावण को उसके ऐश्वर्य की याद दिलाती है। रावण के अंतःपुर में देवताओं और गंधर्वों की कन्याएं हैं, जो सौंदर्य में अद्वितीय हैं। मंदोदरी का तर्क है कि एक साधारण वनवासी मानव-स्त्री (सीता) के पीछे पागल होना रावण की शान के खिलाफ है। यह रावण को शांत करने (distraction) की रणनीति है। वह उसे काम-वासना की पूर्ति के अन्य विकल्प देकर सीता के प्राण बचाना चाहती है।
