स्थितं पन्थानमावृत्य मेने विघ्नं च तं नगम् ।

Sthitaṃ panthānamāvṛtya mene vighnaṃ ca taṃ nagam । । ॥5-58-9॥
Translation
Finding that mountain standing there blocking my path, I considered it to be an obstacle.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मेरे मार्ग को रोककर खड़े हुए उस पर्वत को मैंने (आरंभ में) एक विघ्न (बाधा) ही माना।
English Commentary
Hanuman recounts his initial reaction to the sudden emergence of Mount Mainaka. To a warrior on a critical mission, any unexpected barrier is perceived as a threat. Hanuman’s mindset was tuned for combat and speed, not hospitality. He interpreted the rising mountain blocking his trajectory not as a resting spot, but as a deliberate obstruction (Vighnam), possibly a trap set by the Rakshasas. This highlights his unwavering focus on the objective.

हनुमान जी यहाँ अपनी मानसिक स्थिति का वर्णन कर रहे हैं। जब वे समुद्र लांघ रहे थे, तो अचानक समुद्र के बीच से एक पर्वत (मैनाक) का ऊपर उठना उन्हें स्वाभाविक नहीं लगा। एक योद्धा और दूत के रूप में, उनका पहला विचार सुरक्षा और लक्ष्य की ओर था। उन्होंने इसे किसी मायावी राक्षस की चाल या मार्ग रोकने वाला अवरोध समझा। यह श्लोक यह दर्शाता है कि वीर पुरुष अपने लक्ष्य के प्रति कितने एकाग्र होते हैं कि वे विश्राम के प्रस्ताव को भी पहले विघ्न के रूप में ही देखते हैं।
