ततः सा ह्रीमती बाला भर्तुर्विजयहर्षिता ।
अवोचद्यदि तत्तथ्यं भवेयं शरणं हि वः ।
।
॥५-५८-९०॥
Tataḥ sā hrīmatī bālā bharturvijayaharṣitā । Avocadyadi tattathyaṃ bhaveyaṃ śaraṇaṃ hi vaḥ । । ॥5-58-90॥
Translation
Then that bashful young woman, rejoiced by (the news of) her husband's victory, said: "If that comes true, I will indeed be a refuge for you all."
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब वह लज्जाशील बाला (सीता), अपने पति की विजय (की बात सुनकर) हर्षित हुई और बोली— "यदि यह (स्वप्न) सत्य हुआ, तो मैं निश्चित ही तुम सबकी शरण (रक्षक) बनूंगी।"
English Commentary
Sita’s response confirms Trijata’s assessment. Hearing of Rama’s predicted victory brings her joy (harshita), and despite her modesty (hrimati), she accepts the role of protector. Her statement, "I will be your refuge," shows her total lack of vindictiveness. Even in captivity, she exercises the royal prerogative of granting mercy, proving her nobility remains untouched by her circumstances.

त्रिजटा की बात सुनकर सीता जी ने जो प्रतिक्रिया दी, वह उनकी महानता है। 'ह्रीमती' (लज्जाशील) होते हुए भी उन्होंने 'भवेयं शरणं' (मैं शरण बनूंगी) कहा। उन्होंने यह नहीं कहा कि "मैं तुम्हें दंड दूंगी," बल्कि यह कहा कि यदि मेरे पति जीतते हैं, तो मैं तुम्हें बचाऊंगी। यह क्षमाशीलता का चरम है। अपने शत्रुओं को अभयदान देना केवल एक महाशक्ति ही कर सकती है।
