सागरो ऽप्यतियाद्वेलां मन्दरः प्रचलेदपि ।
न जाम्बवन्तं समरे कम्पयेदरिवाहिनी ।

sāgaro 'pyatiyādvelāṃ mandaraḥ pracaledapi |
na jāmbavantaṃ samare kampayedarivāhinī ॥5-59-13॥
Translation
The ocean might overflow its shores, and Mount Mandara might move from its place, but the enemy army cannot shake Jambavan in battle.
हिंदी अनुवाद
सागर भले ही अपनी मर्यादा (तट) लांघ जाए, और मंदराचल पर्वत भले ही विचलित हो जाए, किन्तु शत्रु की सेना युद्ध में जाम्बवान को कम्पित नहीं कर सकती।
English Commentary
Turning to the elders, Hanuman praises Jambavan, the King of Bears. He uses cosmic metaphors: the Ocean crossing its bounds or the immovable Mandara mountain shaking are considered impossibilities. By stating these might happen but Jambavan would not shake, he emphasizes Jambavan's absolute steadfastness. Jambavan represents the immovable anchor of the army—wisdom combined with brute strength. This praise is meant to remind the Vanaras that they are led by a warrior who has witnessed epochs and cannot be rattled by Ravana's forces.

अब हनुमान जी अपने वरिष्ठ, ऋक्षराज जाम्बवान की प्रशंसा कर रहे हैं। जाम्बवान चिरंजीवी हैं और सतयुग से उपस्थित हैं। हनुमान जी उनकी तुलना प्रकृति की सबसे स्थिर शक्तियों (सागर और मंदराचल) से करते हैं। 'न कम्पयेत्' (नहीं कंपा सकती) कहकर वे जाम्बवान की अचल निष्ठा और शारीरिक दृढ़ता दोनों को रेखांकित करते हैं। यह एक युवा योद्धा द्वारा अपने अनुभवी मार्गदर्शक को दिया गया सम्मान है, जो सेना में पदानुक्रम और आदर भाव को पुष्ट करता है।
