करोत्सेकेन मुक्तौ च प्रमथ्य महतीं चमूम् ।
सुराणाममृतं वीरौ पीतवन्तौ प्लवङ्गमौ ।

karotsekena muktau ca pramathya mahatīṃ camūm |
surāṇāmamṛtaṃ vīrau pītavantau plavaṅgamau ॥5-59-20॥
Translation
These two heroic monkeys, set free/unrestrained by the pride of their might (or boon), agitated the great army of the gods and drank the nectar.
हिंदी अनुवाद
अपने बाहुबल के गर्व (या वरदान के प्रभाव) से स्वच्छन्द विचरने वाले इन दोनों वीरों ने देवताओं की विशाल सेना को मथकर (खलबली मचाकर) अमृत का पान किया था।
English Commentary
This verse alludes to a mythological backstory demonstrating their sheer audacity. Whether referring to the churning of the ocean or a specific incident where they raided the gods' supplies, it states they agitated (pramathya) the celestial army and drank Amrita. "Muktau" suggests they roam freely, unbound by fear or restriction due to their "Karotseka" (overflowing strength of hands/action) or "Varotseka" (pride of boon). It reinforces the idea that they have already faced and bested superior forces (the Devas), so the Rakshasas are an easy target.

(नोट: 'करोत्सेकेन' पाठभेद हो सकता है, प्रायः 'वरोत्सेक' मिलता है, पर यहाँ 'कर' अर्थात हाथ/बाहुबल के संदर्भ में अर्थ किया गया है)। यह घटना मैन्द और द्विविद के बाल्यकाल या पूर्व पराक्रम की ओर संकेत करती है जहाँ उन्होंने देवताओं की सेना को भी परेशान कर दिया था और अमृत प्राप्त किया था। यह उनके दुस्साहस और शक्ति को दर्शाता है। जो देवताओं की सेना को 'प्रमथ्य' (मथ/रौंद) सकते हैं, उनके लिए रावण की सेना एक छोटी बाधा मात्र है।
