Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
सा मया राक्षसीमध्ये तर्ज्यमाना मुहुर्मुहुः ।
राक्षसीभिर्विरूपाभिर्दृष्टा हि प्रमदावने ।
।
॥५-५९-३०॥
Sā mayā rākṣasīmadhye tarjyamānā muhurmuhuḥ । Rākṣasībhirvirūpābhirdṛṣṭā hi pramadāvane । । ॥5-59-30॥
Translation
I indeed saw her in the Pramadavana (pleasure grove), surrounded by demonesses, being threatened again and again by those hideous female demons.
हिंदी अनुवाद
राक्षसियों के बीच फँसी हुई और उन विरूप (डरावनी) राक्षसियों द्वारा बार-बार धमकाई जाती हुई उस सीता को मैंने प्रमदावन (अशोक वाटिका) में देखा।
English Commentary
Hanuman gives an eyewitness account of the psychological torture Sita is enduring. He emphasizes that he saw her being threatened Muhurmuhuh (repeatedly) by hideous guards. The setting is ironic: the Pramadavana (grove of pleasure) has become a place of terror for her. This verse confirms that Sita is not just physically captive but under constant verbal and emotional assault. It underscores the immediate danger she is in and the courage required for her to endure such an environment alone.

हनुमान जी 'आँखों देखा हाल' बता रहे हैं। वे पुष्टि करते हैं ('दृष्टा हि') कि सीता जी सुरक्षित नहीं हैं, बल्कि निरंतर मानसिक प्रताड़ना झेल रही हैं। 'मुहुर्मुहुः' (बार-बार) और 'तर्ज्यमाना' (धमकाई जाती हुईं) शब्द उस भयभीत वातावरण को दर्शाते हैं। सुंदर 'प्रमदावन' (आनंद का बगीचा) सीता जी के लिए एक कारागार और यातना गृह बन गया है। विरूप राक्षसियों और सुंदर सीता के बीच का यह विरोधाभास अच्छाई और बुराई के संघर्ष का प्रतीक है।
