अहमेको ऽपि पर्याप्तः सराक्षसगणां पुरीम् ।
तां लङ्कां तपसा हन्तुं रावणं च महाबलम् ।

ahameko 'pi paryāptaḥ sarākṣasagaṇāṃ purīm |
tāṃ laṅkāṃ tapasā hantuṃ rāvaṇaṃ ca mahābalam ॥5-59-7॥
Translation
I am capable, even alone, of destroying that city of Lanka along with its hordes of demons and the mighty Ravana, through my prowess/penance.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मैं अकेला ही उस पूरी लंका नगरी को राक्षसों के समूहों सहित और महाबली रावण को (अपने) तप (पराक्रम) से नष्ट करने के लिए पर्याप्त हूँ।
English Commentary
Hanuman asserts his martial supremacy here. The use of the word tapasā (by penance/power) is significant; for a Brahmachari like Hanuman, his physical might is a direct result of his spiritual discipline. He claims he can single-handedly wipe out the demon capital and its king. This is not empty boasting but a factual assessment based on his recent rampage in Lanka. He wants to remove any fear the Vanaras might have of Ravana's reputation, assuring them that if one Vanara can do this, the whole group certainly can.
हिंदी टीका
यहाँ 'तपसा' शब्द का अर्थ हनुमान जी के संदर्भ में उनके ब्रह्मचर्य, बल और संकल्प शक्ति से है। हनुमान जी वीर रस में भरकर उद्घोष करते हैं कि यदि अन्य वानर न भी जाएं, तो वे अकेले ही लंका को ध्वस्त कर रावण को मारने में सक्षम हैं। उन्होंने लंका दहन करके इसका प्रमाण दे भी दिया है। यह आत्म-श्लाघा नहीं, बल्कि साथियों का मनोबल बढ़ाने के लिए किया गया शक्ति-प्रदर्शन है। वे बताना चाहते हैं कि शत्रु अजेय नहीं है।
