महा उदरस्य च तथा विरूप अक्षस्य चैव हि ।
विद्युज् जिह्वस्य भवनम् विद्युन् मालेः तथैव च ॥५-६-१९॥
Mahā udarasya ca tathā virūpa akṣasya caiva hi । Vidyuj jihvasya bhavanam vidyun māleḥ tathaiva ca ॥ ॥5-6-19॥
Translation
Similarly, he went to the mansion of Mahodara and Virupaksha, and then to the abode of Vidyujjihva and likewise to that of Vidyunmali.

इसी प्रकार वे महोदर और विरूपाक्ष के भवन पर गए। फिर विद्युज्जिह्व के भवन और विद्युन्माली के भवन पर भी गए।
English Commentary
Hanuman continues his rapid reconnaissance, checking the homes of Mahodara, Virupaksha, Vidyujjihva, and Vidyunmali. The names themselves are descriptive of their grotesque or terrifying attributes (e.g., Virūpākṣa means "Deformed Eyes," Vidyujjihva means "Lightning Tongue"). This list emphasizes the formidable array of warriors at Ravana's disposal. Vidyujjihva is particularly notable as the sorcerer who later conjures an illusion of Rama’s severed head to torment Sita. Hanuman’s persistence here is key; he is sifting through the abodes of the most wicked beings in existence to find the purest, showcasing his dedication to the mission despite the repulsive environment.

इस श्लोक में चार और प्रमुख राक्षसों के नाम आते हैं: महोदर (बड़े पेट वाला), विरूपाक्ष (विकृत आंखों वाला), विद्युज्जिह्व (बिजली जैसी जीभ वाला), और विद्युन्माली (बिजली की माला वाला)। ये नाम राक्षसों के भयानक और विचित्र स्वरूपों का वर्णन करते हैं। हनुमान जी की खोज की गति यहाँ बहुत तीव्र है। 'तथा' और 'चैव हि' शब्दों की आवृत्ति बताती है कि वे एक क्षण भी रुके बिना, एक के बाद एक इन भवनों का निरीक्षण कर रहे हैं। इनमें से 'विद्युज्जिह्व' वही राक्षस है जिसने बाद में सीता को राम का कटा हुआ मायावी सिर दिखाया था। हनुमान जी इन अधर्मियों के घरों में जगदंबा सीता को खोज रहे हैं, जो कीचड़ में कमल खोजने जैसा है।
