करालस्य पिशाचस्य शोणित अक्षस्य चैव हि ।
क्रममाणः क्रमेण एव हनूमान् मारुत आत्मजः ॥५-६-२६॥
Karālasya piśācasya śoṇita akṣasya caiva hi । Kramamāṇaḥ krameṇa eva hanūmān māruta ātmajaḥ ॥ ॥5-6-26॥
Translation
Hanuman, the son of the Wind-god, moving sequentially, went past the mansions of Karala, Pishacha, and Shonitaksha.

मारुतनन्दन हनुमान कराल, पिशाच और शोणिताक्ष के भवनों के ऊपर से क्रमानुसार (एक के बाद एक) आगे बढ़ते गए।
English Commentary
Hanuman checks the homes of Karala (The Terrible), Pishacha (The Ghoul), and Shonitaksha (Red-eyed/Blood-eyed). The phrase kramamāṇaḥ krameṇa eva (proceeding strictly in order/sequence) is vital. It shows that Hanuman was not frantically running around; he was conducting a systematic, disciplined search operation. He moved from building to building with the precision of a soldier. Despite the horrific nature of inhabitants like Shonitaksha—whose name implies a perpetually angry or bloodthirsty gaze—Hanuman remains undeterred. This methodical approach amidst a city of chaos distinguishes the divine messenger from the disorderly demons he observes. He is bringing order to the chaos through his focused awareness.
