Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
सर्वेषाम् समतिक्रम्य भवनानि समन्ततः ।
आससाद अथ लक्ष्मीवान् राक्षस इन्द्र निवेशनम् ॥५-६-२८॥
Sarveṣām samatikramya bhavanāni samantataḥ । Āsasāda atha lakṣmīvān rākṣasa indra niveśanam ॥ ॥5-6-28॥
Translation
Having passed beyond all those mansions on all sides, the glorious (Lakshmivan) Hanuman then reached the abode of the Lord of Rakshasas (Ravana).
हिंदी अनुवाद
उन सभी के भवनों को सब ओर से पार करके (निरीक्षण करके), शोभासम्पन्न (लक्ष्मीवान्) हनुमान जी अंततः राक्षसराज रावण के मुख्य भवन (अंतःपुर) के पास पहुंचे।
English Commentary
After a comprehensive sweep of the generals' quarters, Hanuman arrives at the epicenter: Ravana's own palace (Rākṣasa indra niveśanam). The transition is marked by the word atha (then/thereafter). Hanuman is described as Lakṣmīvān (possessed of Lakshmi/splendor/grace). This is significant; usually, Ravana is associated with wealth (Lakshmi), but true spiritual splendor resides with Hanuman. He has 'transcended' (samatikramya) the distractions of the lesser demons to confront the ultimate source of the adharma. This moment marks the shift from reconnaissance of the army to the infiltration of the royal household, raising the stakes of his mission significantly.

अन्य सभी राक्षसों के घरों की तलाशी लेने के बाद, अब हनुमान जी अपने मुख्य लक्ष्य पर केंद्रित होते हैं—'राक्षसेंद्र निवेशनम्' (रावण का निजी निवास)। शब्द 'समतिक्रम्य' बताता है कि उन्होंने पिछले सभी भवनों को पीछे छोड़ दिया है क्योंकि वहां सीता नहीं मिलीं। हनुमान जी के लिए 'लक्ष्मीवान्' विशेषण का प्रयोग बहुत सुंदर है। यद्यपि वे शत्रु के गढ़ में हैं, फिर भी वे रामभक्ति और ब्रह्मचर्य की शोभा (लक्ष्मी) से युक्त हैं। दूसरी ओर, रावण के पास भौतिक लक्ष्मी तो है, लेकिन दैवीय शोभा नहीं। अब कथा का फोकस लंका के बाहरी आवरण से हटकर उसके सबसे संवेदनशील केंद्र—रावण के महल—पर आ गया है, जहाँ सीता के मिलने की सर्वाधिक संभावना है।
