मेघस्तनितनिर्घोषान् दुर्धर्षान् समरे परैः ।
सहस्रं वाहिनीस्तत्र जाम्बूनदपरिष्कृताः ॥ ॥५-६-३४॥
Meghastanitanirghoṣān durdharṣān samare paraiḥ । Sahasraṃ vāhinīstatra jāmbūnadapariṣkṛtāḥ ॥ ॥5-6-34॥
Translation
There, he saw thousands of army divisions (or chariots) decorated with gold, making a sound like the thundering of clouds, invincible to enemies in battle.

वहाँ (उस भवन में) बादलों की गर्जना के समान घोष वाली, युद्ध में शत्रुओं द्वारा पराजित न की जा सकने वाली और सोने से अलंकृत हजारों सेनाएँ (या वाहन/रथ) थीं।
English Commentary
The term 'Vahini' here refers to divisions of the army or chariots. This verse captures the blend of military might and opulence in Lanka. They were decorated with 'Jambunada' gold, signifying limitless wealth. Their sound resembled thundering clouds, symbolizing their speed and power. The adjective 'durdharshan' indicates they were unassailable or invincible in battle. This observation allows Hanuman to assess the formidable magnitude of the enemy's resources, noting that their machinery of war was as ornate as it was deadly.
