बहु रत्न समाकीर्णम् पर अर्ध्य आसन भाजनम् ।
महा रथ समावासम् महा रथ महा आसनम् ॥५-६-७॥
bahu ratna samākīrṇam para ardhya āsana bhājanam |
mahā ratha samāvāsam mahā ratha mahā āsanam ॥5-6-7॥
Translation
That palace was filled with many gems and contained excellent seats and vessels. It was the abode of great warriors (Maharathas) and appeared like a great chariot itself, containing grand thrones.

वह भवन बहुत से रत्नों से भरा हुआ था, वहां श्रेष्ठ आसन और पात्र थे। वह महारथियों का निवास स्थान था और वह स्वयं एक विशाल रथ (विमान) के समान प्रतीत होता था जिसमें महान आसन (सिंहासन) थे।
English Commentary
The verse highlights the sheer density of wealth: 'filled with many gems'. It mentions expensive furniture ('āsana') and utensils ('bhājanam'). The term 'mahāratha samāvāsam' identifies it as the barracks or quarters of the 'Maharathas' (supreme warriors), the highest class of fighters. The structure itself is likened to a 'great chariot' ('mahāratham'), possibly alluding to the Pushpaka Vimana's ability to fly or its intricate, vehicle-like design. It serves as the seat of power ('mahā āsanam') for the demon king, combining domestic luxury with military readiness.

यह श्लोक रावण के भवन की आंतरिक समृद्धि और उसके स्वरूप का वर्णन करता है। 'परार्ध्य' (बहुमूल्य) आसन और बर्तनों का उल्लेख है। 'महारथ समावासम्' के दो अर्थ हो सकते हैं—जहाँ बहुत से महारथी (योद्धा) रहते थे, या जहाँ विशाल रथ रखे जाते थे। अंतिम पद 'महारथ महा आसनम्' भवन को ही एक विशाल रथ (पुष्पक विमान जैसा) बताता है जिसमें बड़े-बड़े सिंहासन लगे हैं। यह वास्तुकला की गतिशीलता और स्थिरता का मिश्रण है। हनुमान जी अब उस स्थान पर पहुँच चुके हैं जो लंका का सबसे सुरक्षित और समृद्ध हिस्सा है।
