तमेवं कृतसङ्कल्पं जाम्बवान् हरिसत्तमः ।
उवाच परमप्रीतो वाक्यमर्थवदर्थवित् ।
।
॥५-६०-६॥
tamevaṃ kṛtasaṅkalpaṃ jāmbavān harisattamaḥ । uvāca paramaprīto vākyamarthavadarthavit । । ॥5-60-6॥
Translation
To him (Angada), who had thus resolved, Jambavan, the best of Vanaras and knower of true import, spoke these meaningful words with great affection.
हिंदी अनुवाद
इस प्रकार संकल्प किए हुए उन (अंगद) से, अर्थ को जानने वाले वानर श्रेष्ठ जाम्बवान ने अत्यंत प्रसन्न होकर यह सार्थक वचन कहा।
English Commentary
Jambavan steps in as the voice of reason and experience. Described as Arthavit (knower of meaning/strategy), he understands the broader implications of Angada's plan. Importantly, he is Paramaprita (very pleased) with Angada's courage—he doesn't scold him. Instead, he guides him. This verse sets up the corrective advice: valor is good, but protocol and the master’s vow (Rama’s promise) are supreme.

यहाँ अनुभव और उत्साह का मिलन होता है। जाम्बवान 'अर्थवित्' हैं, अर्थात वे नीति, धर्म और मर्यादा के जानकार हैं। वे अंगद के जोश को नकारते नहीं हैं (वे 'परमप्रीत' अर्थात प्रसन्न हैं कि अंगद इतना साहसी है), लेकिन वे उसे सही दिशा देते हैं। जाम्बवान जानते हैं कि सेनापति का काम केवल जीतना नहीं, बल्कि राजा (श्रीराम) की आज्ञा का अक्षरशः पालन करना है। वे अंगद के संकल्प को एक वयोवृद्ध मंत्री की भांति संशोधित करने के लिए तैयार होते हैं।
