ततस्ते वानरा हृष्टा दृष्ट्वा मधुवनं महत् ।
कुमारमभ्ययाचन्त मधूनि मधुपिङ्गलाः ।

tataste vānarā hṛṣṭā dṛṣṭvā madhuvanaṃ mahat । kumāramabhyayācanta madhūni madhupiṅgalāḥ । । ॥5-61-11॥
Translation
Then, seeing that great honey-forest, those happy monkeys, who were themselves honey-colored, requested the Prince (Angada) for honey.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब उस विशाल मधुवन को देखकर, वे मधु के समान पिंगल वर्ण (पीले-भूरे रंग) वाले प्रसन्न वानर, कुमार (अंगद) से मधु पीने की याचना करने लगे।
English Commentary
Despite their excitement, the chain of command holds temporarily. They do not simply grab the honey; they petition their leader, Angada (Kumaram abhyayachanta). The poetic descriptor Madhu-pingalah (honey-hued) creates a visual harmony between the monkeys and the object of their desire. It emphasizes that this is a collective desire of the entire troop asking for a reward after their hard labor.

यहाँ अनुशासन का अंतिम प्रदर्शन है। लूट मचाने से पहले वे प्रोटोकॉल का पालन करते हैं और अपने नेता, युवराज अंगद (कुमार), से अनुमति मांगते हैं। 'मधुपिङ्गलाः' (शहद जैसे रंग वाले) विशेषण का प्रयोग कवि ने सुंदरता बढ़ाने के लिए किया है—वानरों का रंग और जिस मधु की वे कामना कर रहे हैं, दोनों एक समान हैं। वे केवल फल नहीं, विशेष रूप से 'मधु' (शहद/मदिरा) मांग रहे हैं।
