ये ऽप्यत्र मधुपालाः स्युः प्रेष्या दधिमुखस्य तु ।
ते ऽपि तैर्वानरैर्भीमैः प्रतिषिद्धा दिशो गताः ।
।
॥५-६२-१५॥
ye 'pyatra madhupālāḥ syuḥ preṣyā dadhimukhasya tu । te 'pi tairvānarairbhīmaiḥ pratiṣiddhā diśo gatāḥ । । ॥5-62-15॥
Translation
Whatever honey-guards (servants) of Dadhimukha were there, they were repelled by those terrifying monkeys and fled in all directions.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वहाँ दधिमुख (सुग्रीव के मामा और वन-रक्षक) के जो भी सेवक 'मधुपाल' (रक्षक) थे, वे उन भयानक वानरों द्वारा खदेड़ दिए गए और (प्राण बचाने हेतु) विभिन्न दिशाओं में भाग गए।
English Commentary
This verse concludes the immediate scuffle with the guards. The servants of Dadhimukha (Sugriva's uncle and the warden of the forest) are completely routed. The search party is described as bhimaih (terrifying/formidable), emphasizing that the guards stood no chance against these veteran warriors in their frenzied state. The guards fled in all directions to save themselves. This routing of the guards sets the stage for the intervention of Dadhimukha himself, moving the narrative from the celebration to the confrontation with authority.

यहाँ उत्सव के हिंसक पहलू का समापन और अगले घटनाक्रम की भूमिका है। दधिमुख, जो सुग्रीव के मामा हैं, उनके सेवकों को भागना पड़ा। 'भीमैः' (भयानक) शब्द बताता है कि वानर रक्षकों के लिए डरावने हो गए थे। रक्षक अपनी संख्या और शक्ति में कम पड़ गए और उन्हें अपनी जान बचाने के लिए 'दिशो गताः' (दिशाओं में, यानी जहाँ जगह मिली वहाँ) भागना पड़ा। अब यह स्पष्ट है कि रक्षक अपने स्वामी दधिमुख के पास शिकायत लेकर जाएंगे, जिससे कथा आगे बढ़ेगी।
