Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
जानुभिस्तु प्रकृष्टाश्च देवमार्गं प्रदर्शिताः ।
अब्रुवन् परमोद्विग्ना गत्वा दधिमुखं वचः ।
।
॥५-६२-१६॥
Jānubhistu prakṛṣṭāśca devamārgaṃ pradarśitāḥ । Abruvan paramodvignā gatvā dadhimukhaṃ vacaḥ । । ॥5-62-16॥
Translation
Dragged by their knees and tossed into the pathway of the celestials (the sky), those extremely agitated guards went to Dadhimukha and spoke these words.
हिंदी अनुवाद
घुटनों के बल घसीटे गए और आकाश मार्ग (देवमार्ग) दिखाए गए (हवा में उछाले गए) वे वनपाल, अत्यंत व्याकुल होकर दधिमुख के पास गए और यह वचन बोले।
English Commentary
This verse vividly portrays the plight of the grove guards. The phrase "shown the path of the celestials" is a poetic way of saying they were tossed high into the air by the powerful Vanaras. Being dragged by their knees indicates complete domination and humiliation. The guards are described as paramodvignā (extremely agitated or terrified). Their retreat to Dadhimukha, their commander, highlights their helplessness against the intoxicated and jubilant search party led by Angada and Hanuman. It sets the stage for the conflict between the established authority of the grove and the triumphant warriors.

इस श्लोक में वनपालों की दयनीय स्थिति का चित्रण है। हनुमान और अंगद के नेतृत्व में वानरों ने मधुपान से रोकने पर रक्षकों की बुरी तरह पिटाई की थी। "जानुभिस्तु प्रकृष्टाश्च" (घुटनों से घसीटे गए) और "देवमार्गं प्रदर्शिताः" (आकाश मार्ग दिखाया गया) वाक्यांश यह दर्शाते हैं कि उन्हें न केवल मारा गया, बल्कि अपमानित करके हवा में फेंक दिया गया। यह दृश्य वानर सेना के उन्माद और शक्ति के प्रदर्शन को स्पष्ट करता है। वनपाल अत्यंत भयभीत और उद्विग्न होकर अपने नेता दधिमुख के पास शिकायत लेकर पहुँचते हैं, क्योंकि वे स्वयं उस विशाल सेना का सामना करने में असमर्थ थे।
