स समाश्वस्य सहसा संक्रुद्धो राजमातुलः ।
वानरान् वारयामास दण्डेन मधुमोहितान् ।
।
॥५-६२-२९॥
Sa samāśvasya sahasā saṃkruddho rājamātulaḥ । Vānarān vārayāmāsa daṇḍena madhumohitān । । ॥5-62-29॥
Translation
Upon recovering his breath/consciousness, the royal maternal uncle (Dadhimukha), suddenly filled with rage, began to restrain the intoxication-bewildered monkeys with a staff.

होश में आने पर, वह राज-मामा (सुग्रीव के मामा) अचानक क्रोधित हो उठे और हाथ में डंडा लेकर उन मदहोश वानरों को रोकने लगे।
English Commentary
Dadhimukha’s resilience is commendable. Despite severe injuries and just recovering from a faint, he immediately returns to his duty. The text uses the epithet rājamātulaḥ (the King’s maternal uncle) to remind the reader of his high status, which makes his humiliation even more stinging. His attempt to stop the intoxicated monkeys (madhumohitān) with a simple staff (daṇḍena) after physical combat failed shows his desperation to uphold the law, even when outmatched. It paints a picture of a stubborn administrator refusing to yield to chaos.

दधिमुख की जिजीविषा और कर्तव्यनिष्ठा अद्भुत है। इतनी बुरी तरह घायल होने और मूर्छित होने के बाद भी, होश आते ही ("समाश्वस्य") वह भागता नहीं है, बल्कि पुनः क्रोधित होकर अपना कर्तव्य निभाने का प्रयास करता है। यहाँ उसे "राजमातुलः" (राजा का मामा) कहकर संबोधित किया गया है, जो उसकी प्रतिष्ठा और अधिकार को दर्शाता है। शारीरिक बल में हारने के बाद अब वह "दण्डेन" (डंडे/छड़ी) का प्रयोग कर अनुशासन बनाने की कोशिश करता है, जो उसकी हताशा और दृढ़ता दोनों को प्रकट करता है।
