Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
अवश्यं कृतकार्यस्य वाक्यं हनुमतो मया ।
अकार्यमपि कर्तव्यं किमङ्ग पुनरीदृशम् ।
।
॥५-६२-३॥
avaśyaṃ kṛtakāryasya vākyaṃ hanumato mayā । akāryamapi kartavyaṃ kimaṅga punarīdṛśam । । ॥5-62-3॥
Translation
"For Hanuman, who has accomplished the task, I must certainly do even that which is improper if he says so. What then needs to be said about a matter like this?"
हिंदी अनुवाद
(अंगद कहते हैं) "हनुमान ने कार्य सिद्ध किया है (सीता को खोजा है)। उनके कहने पर तो मुझे अनुचित कार्य (अकार्य) भी अवश्य करना चाहिए, फिर इस प्रकार के (मधु पीने जैसे साधारण) कार्य की तो बात ही क्या है!"
English Commentary
Angada justifies the breach of protocol with a powerful argument: Merit outweighs rules. Since Hanuman has achieved the impossible (Kritakaryasya), his wish is a command superior to ordinary laws. Angada states he would commit even an Akaryam (improper act) for Hanuman's sake; therefore, granting permission for a party is trivial. This highlights the immense stature Hanuman has attained through his exploit.

यह श्लोक कृतज्ञता और योग्यता (Meritocracy) का सर्वोच्च उदाहरण है। अंगद कहते हैं कि हनुमान का उपकार इतना बड़ा है कि यदि वे कोई 'अकार्य' (पाप या नियम विरुद्ध कार्य) करने को भी कहते, तो मैं कर देता। मधु पीना तो बहुत छोटी बात है। यह हनुमान के प्रति अंगद के असीम सम्मान को दर्शाता है। सफलता नियमों से ऊपर होती है—यह इस श्लोक का भाव है।
