Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
निमेषान्तरमात्रेण स हि प्राप्तो वनालयः ।
सहस्रांशुसुतो धीमान् सुग्रीवो यत्र वानरः ।
।
॥५-६२-३७॥
Nimeṣāntaramātreṇa sa hi prāpto vanālayaḥ । Sahasrāṃśusuto dhīmān sugrīvo yatra vānaraḥ । । ॥5-62-37॥
Translation
In just a blink of an eye, that grove keeper arrived at the place where the wise son of the Thousand-Rayed One (Sun), the monkey Sugriva, was.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह वन रक्षक (दधिमुख) पलक झपकते ही वहां पहुंच गया, जहां हजार किरणों वाले सूर्य के पुत्र, बुद्धिमान वानरराज सुग्रीव थे।
English Commentary
The supernatural speed of the Vanaras is emphasized here; the journey takes a mere nimeṣa (blink of an eye). Dadhimukha arrives where Sugriva is stationed. Sugriva is referred to as sahasrāṃśusuta (Son of the Sun/Thousand-rayed one) and dhīmān (wise). These epithets are significant: "Son of the Sun" highlights his royalty and power, while "wise" suggests that despite Dadhimukha's expectations of blind rage, Sugriva possesses the intellect to judge the situation correctly.

वानरों की गति अति-मानवीय है। मधुवन से सुग्रीव के स्थान (प्रस्रवण पर्वत) की दूरी "निमेषान्तरमात्रेण" (पलक झपकने के समय में) तय कर ली गई। सुग्रीव के लिए "सहस्रांशुसुतो" (सूर्यपुत्र) विशेषण का प्रयोग उनकी दिव्यता और तेज को दर्शाता है। साथ ही उन्हें "धीमान्" (बुद्धिमान) कहा गया है, जो संकेत देता है कि सुग्रीव केवल क्रोधित नहीं होंगे, बल्कि स्थिति को अपनी बुद्धिमत्ता से परखेंगे। दधिमुख का इतनी जल्दी पहुँचना कथा की गति को तीव्र करता है।
