एवमेते हताः शूरास्त्वयि तिष्ठति भर्तरि ।
कृत्स्नं मधुवनं चैव प्रकामं तैः प्रभक्ष्यते ।
।
॥५-६३-१०॥
Evamete hatāḥ śūras tvayi tiṣṭhati bhartari । Kṛtsnaṃ madhuvanaṃ caiva prakāmaṃ taiḥ prabhakṣyate । । ॥5-63-10॥
Translation
"Thus these brave guards have been beaten while you, their master, are present; and the entire Madhuvana is being consumed by them at will."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"आपके स्वामी (रक्षक) होते हुए भी इन शूरवीरों को इस प्रकार मारा गया है। और पूरा मधुवन उनके द्वारा इच्छा अनुसार खाया (उजाड़ा) जा रहा है।"
English Commentary
Dadhimukha concludes his plea with an emotional appeal to Sugriva's responsibility as the 'Bhartri' (Master/Protector). He contrasts the presence of a powerful king with the reality that his loyal guards are being beaten ('hatah') with impunity. He emphasizes that the consumption of the grove is total ('krtsnam') and willful ('prakamam'), urging the King to intervene immediately to stop the ongoing destruction and restore authority.

दधिमुख अपनी बात समाप्त करते हुए सुग्रीव के 'स्वामी' (भर्ता) होने के दायित्व को चुनौती देते हैं। उनका तर्क है कि राजा का अस्तित्व ही प्रजा और सेवकों की रक्षा के लिए है, फिर आपकी उपस्थिति में ऐसा अन्याय क्यों? यह सुग्रीव के पौरुष और राजधर्म को जगाने का प्रयास है। साथ ही, वे यह भी बताते हैं कि मधुवन का विनाश अभी भी जारी है ('प्रभक्ष्यते' - वर्तमान काल), इसलिए तत्काल कार्यवाही आवश्यक है।
