नैषामकृतकृत्यानामीदृशः स्यादुपक्रमः ।
आगतैश्च प्रमथितं यथा मधुवनं हि तैः ।
।
॥५-६३-१६॥
Naiṣāmakṛtakṛtyānāmīdṛśaḥ syādupakramaḥ । Āgataiśca pramathitaṃ yathā madhuvanaṃ hi taiḥ । 。 ॥5-63-16॥
Translation
If they had not accomplished their task, such would not be their behavior; considering how they have indeed returned and churned up (destroyed) the Madhuvana.
हिंदी अनुवाद
यदि वे कृतकार्य (सफल) न हुए होते, तो उनका ऐसा उपक्रम (व्यवहार/साहस) न होता; जिस प्रकार उन्होंने वापस आकर मधुवन को मथ डाला (उजाड़ दिया) है।
English Commentary
Sugriva displays remarkable deductive reasoning. He argues that guilty or failing soldiers do not riot; they cower. The sheer audacity to destroy the King's favorite, protected grove ('Pramathitam' - churned up) implies that the Vanaras feel entitled to a reward that outweighs the crime. Only a monumental success—finding Sita—could give them such confidence (or 'impunity') to violate royal decrees so flagrantly.

सुग्रीव यहाँ 'वानर मनोविज्ञान' (Monkey Psychology) का विश्लेषण कर रहे हैं। वे कहते हैं कि यदि वानर असफल होकर लौटते, तो वे भयभीत होते, छिपते, और लज्जित होते। वे कभी भी राजा के प्रिय मधुवन को उजाड़ने का साहस नहीं करते। यह उद्दंडता, यह निडरता और यह उत्सव केवल 'सफलता' (कृतकार्य) से ही उत्पन्न हो सकता है। यह विनाश नहीं, विजय का उन्माद है।
