दृष्टा सीता महाबाहो सौमित्रे पश्य तत्त्वतः ।
अभिगम्य तथासवं पिबन्ति मधु वानराः ।
।
॥५-६३-२३॥
Dṛṣṭā Sītā mahābāho Saumitre paśya tattvataḥ । Abhigamya tathāsavaṃ pibanti madhu vānarāḥ । 。 ॥5-63-23॥
Translation
O Mighty-armed Son of Sumitra! Sita has been seen; perceive this as the truth. Only after reaching her (finding her) are the Vanaras drinking the honey/wine in that manner.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे महाबाहु सुमित्रा-नंदन (लक्ष्मण)! सीता देख ली गयी हैं, इस बात को आप तत्त्वतः (यथार्थ रूप में) समझें। (सीता तक) पहुँचने के बाद ही वानर उस प्रकार आसव (शहद/मद्य) पी रहे हैं।
English Commentary
Sugriva delivers the verdict with absolute conviction to Lakshmana ('Saumitre'). He urges Lakshmana to see the 'Tattvataha' (reality/truth) behind the chaos. The drinking of the 'Asavam' (honey-wine) is directly linked to 'Abhigamya' (having approached/found her). This concludes Sugriva's masterful interpretation of the situation, transforming a report of vandalism into a proclamation of victory.

सुग्रीव अपने निष्कर्ष को अंतिम रूप देते हैं। वे लक्ष्मण को 'महाबाहो' कहकर उत्साहित करते हैं और कहते हैं कि 'पश्य तत्त्वतः' (सच्चाई को देखो)। उनका तर्क अकाट्य है: वानर केवल इसलिए जश्न मना रहे हैं क्योंकि वे अपने लक्ष्य तक पहुँच गए हैं ('अभिगम्य')। यह श्लोक लक्ष्मण और राम के लिए आशा की किरण लेकर आता है। मधुवन का पान केवल एक लक्षण है, असल बात सीता की खोज है।
