Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
शिष्टमत्रापविध्यन्ति भक्षयन्ति तथा ऽपरे ।
निवार्यमाणास्ते सर्वे भ्रूवौ वै दर्शयन्ति हि ।

॥५-६३-६॥
Śiṣṭamatrāpavidhyanti bhakṣayanti tathā 'pare । Nivāryamāṇāste sarve bhrūvau vai darśayanti hi । । ॥5-63-6॥
Translation
"They throw away what remains here, while others eat it. When prevented, they all indeed show their eyebrows (frown/threaten us)."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"कुछ वानर बचे-खुचे शहद को फेंक रहे हैं, तो दूसरे उसे खा रहे हैं। रोके जाने पर वे सभी [हमें] भौंहें दिखाते हैं (डराते/धमकाते हैं)।"
English Commentary
This verse vividly paints a picture of drunken revelry and wastefulness. Not only are they consuming the royal honey, but they are also wantonly destroying it by throwing leftovers around, a sign of extreme arrogance. The phrase 'showing their eyebrows' is a gesture of intimidation and defiance. It signifies that the search party feels invincible and superior to the local guards, further deepening the mystery of their newfound confidence.

यह श्लोक वानरों की मदमस्त अवस्था और उद्दंडता का सजीव चित्रण है। भोजन को फेंकना ('अपविध्यन्ति') अत्यधिक प्रचुरता और अहंकार का सूचक है। "भौंहें दिखाना" एक मुहावरा है जो गुंडागर्दी, धमकी और निडरता को व्यक्त करता है। दधिमुख यह स्पष्ट कर रहे हैं कि वे वानर अब बातचीत या चेतावनी से मानने वाले नहीं हैं, वे पूरी तरह से नियंत्रण से बाहर हैं।
