यद्यप्यकृतकृत्यानामीदृशः स्यादुपक्रमः ।
भवेत् स दीनवदनो भ्रान्तविप्लुतमानसः ।
।
॥५-६४-२७॥
Yadyapyakṛtakṛtyānāmīdṛśaḥ syādupakramaḥ |
Bhavet sa dīnavadano bhrāntaviplutamānasaḥ ॥5-64-27॥
Translation
"Even if they had returned without accomplishing the task, their behavior would not be like this. He (Angada) would have a sad face and a confused, agitated mind."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"यदि वे कार्य सिद्ध किए बिना लौटे होते, तो उनका ऐसा उपक्रम (मधुवन विध्वंस और कोलाहल) न होता। तब अंगद का मुख दीन होता और उनका चित्त भ्रमित और व्याकुल होता।"
English Commentary
Sugriva uses counter-logic here. He explains to Rama the symptoms of failure: sadness, fear, and mental agitation. However, the current behavior of the Vanaras—making noise, flying swiftly, and destroying the Madhuvana—are signs of joy and pride. Sugriva foresightedly and logically eliminates every doubt that might be arising in Rama's anxious mind.

सुग्रीव यहाँ 'विपरीत तर्क' (counter-logic) का प्रयोग कर रहे हैं। वे राम को समझाते हैं कि असफलता के लक्षण क्या होते हैं—उदासी, भय, और मानसिक व्याकुलता। लेकिन वानरों का वर्तमान व्यवहार—शोर मचाना, तेजी से उड़ना, और मधुवन को उजाड़ना—खुशी और गर्व के लक्षण हैं। सुगरीव दूरदर्शिता से राम के मन में उठने वाले हर संदेह को तार्किक रूप से काट रहे हैं।
