दृष्टा मे राक्षसीमध्ये तर्ज्यमाना मुहुर्मुहुः ।
राक्षसीभिर्विरूपाभी रक्षिता प्रमदावने ।

dṛṣṭā me rākṣasīmadhye tarjyamānā muhurmuhuḥ |
rākṣasībhirvirūpābhī rakṣitā pramadāvane ॥5-65-11॥
Translation
She was seen by me in the Pramadavana (pleasure grove), guarded by hideous demonesses, and being repeatedly threatened by them in the midst of those demons.

मैंने उन्हें प्रमदावन (अशोक वाटिका) में विकृत रूप वाली राक्षसियों के बीच, उन राक्षसियों द्वारा पहरे में रखी गई और बार-बार डराई-धमकाई जाती हुई देखा।
English Commentary
Hanuman paints a vivid and horrifying picture of Sita’s environment to ignite Rama’s martial wrath. The contrast is stark: the divine Sita surrounded by virūpābhī (deformed/hideous) demonesses. The phrase tarjyamānā muhurmuhuḥ (threatened again and again) indicates psychological torture. She is not just imprisoned; she is actively terrorized. Placing this in the Pramadavana (pleasure grove) adds a layer of cruel irony—a place meant for enjoyment has become her dungeon of despair. Hanuman wants Rama to understand that Sita is under constant siege, not just physically guarded, but emotionally assaulted every moment.

अब हनुमान जी सीता के कष्टों का दृश्य खींचते हैं। 'विरूपाभी' (कुरूप/विकृत) राक्षसियों के बीच सीता की स्थिति ऐसी है जैसे हिंसक पशुओं के बीच एक हिरणी। 'तर्ज्यमाना मुहुर्मुहुः' (बार-बार धमकाई जाती हुई) बताता है कि सीता का संघर्ष केवल शारीरिक कैद का नहीं, बल्कि निरंतर मानसिक प्रताड़ना का भी है। उन्हें पल-प्रति-पल भयभीत किया जा रहा है। 'प्रमदावन' (आनंद का वन) का नाम यहाँ विरोधाभास उत्पन्न करता है—जो स्थान रावण के लिए आनंद का है, वह सीता के लिए यातना गृह है। हनुमान जी इन शब्दों से श्री राम के हृदय में शत्रु के प्रति क्रोध और सीता के प्रति करुणा को जागृत कर रहे हैं।
