इक्ष्वाकुवंशविख्यातिं शनैः कीर्तयता ऽनघ ।
सा मया नरशार्दूल विश्वासमुपपादिता ।

ikṣvākuvaṃśavikhyātiṃ śanaiḥ kīrtayatā 'nagha |
sā mayā naraśārdūla viśvāsamupapāditā ॥5-65-15॥
Translation
O Sinless one, O Tiger among men, by slowly chanting the fame of the Ikshvaku lineage, I inspired confidence in her.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे निष्पाप! हे नरशार्दूल (पुरुषों में सिंह)! इक्ष्वाकु वंश की कीर्ति का धीरे-धीरे गुणगान करते हुए, मैंने उन्हें विश्वास दिलाया।
English Commentary
Hanuman explains his strategy for establishing trust in a hostile environment. He couldn't simply approach Sita, as she was terrified of Ravana's tricks. Instead, he used the "password" to her heart: the glory of the Ikshvaku lineage. By reciting the history of Rama's ancestors softly (śanaiḥ), he provided auditory proof of his alliance before revealing himself. This shows Hanuman's intelligence; he comforted her with familiar and beloved sounds in a place of alien terror. Addressing Rama as Naraśārdūla (Tiger among men) reflects the heroic image of Rama that Hanuman used to reassure Sita that her rescuer is powerful and coming for her.

हनुमान जी यहाँ बताते हैं कि उन्होंने सीता का विश्वास कैसे जीता। राक्षसियों के बीच किसी वानर का बोलना संदेह उत्पन्न कर सकता था, इसलिए उन्होंने 'शनैः' (धीरे-धीरे/मधुरता से) इक्ष्वाकु वंश (राम के कुल) का यश गाना शुरू किया। यह एक मनोवैज्ञानिक दृष्टिकोण था—शत्रु के घर में केवल अपने पति और उनके पूर्वजों की कीर्ति सुनकर ही सीता को विश्वास हो सकता था कि यह कोई मित्र है। हनुमान जी राम को 'अनघ' (पापरहित) और 'नरशार्दूल' (पुरुषों में सिंह) कहकर संबोधित करते हैं, जो यह दर्शाता है कि सीता के मन में राम की छवि कितनी महान है, जिसका ही सहारा लेकर हनुमान ने उनसे संपर्क स्थापित किया।
