वैदेहीमक्षतां श्रुत्वा रामस्तूत्तरमब्रवीत् ।

vaidehīmakṣatāṃ śrutvā rāmastūttaramabravīt ॥5-65-4॥
Translation
Hearing that Vaidehi (Sita) was unharmed, Rama spoke the following words in reply.

वैदेही (सीता) को सकुशल सुनकर श्री राम ने उत्तर दिया।
English Commentary
This verse marks a pivotal emotional transition for Rama. Upon hearing Hanuman's initial proclamation that Sita has been seen, Rama's immediate anxiety regarding her survival is quelled. The specific use of the word akṣatām (unharmed/intact) suggests that Rama’s primary fear was for her physical safety or life. Knowing she is alive gives him the strength to engage in the conversation. It showcases Rama's composure even in moments of high emotional turbulence. He does not immediately breakdown but prepares himself to hear the details, no matter how painful. यह श्लोक एक महत्वपूर्ण संक्रमण काल को दर्शाता है। हनुमान जी द्वारा 'दृष्टा सीता' (सीता देखी गई) का उद्घोष सुनने के पश्चात श्री राम की तत्काल प्रतिक्रिया यहाँ वर्णित है। 'अक्षताम्' शब्द का प्रयोग अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण है, जिसका अर्थ है 'बिना किसी क्षति के' या 'जीवित'। विरह की अग्नि में जल रहे श्री राम के लिए यह शब्द अमृत के समान था। यद्यपि सीता जी मानसिक रूप से पीड़ित थीं, परन्तु उनके प्राण सुरक्षित थे, यह जानकर राम जी को जो क्षणिक राहत मिली, उसी ने उन्हें आगे के प्रश्न पूछने का सामर्थ्य दिया। यह संक्षिप्त पंक्ति श्री राम के धैर्य और उनकी व्याकुलता के बीच के संतुलन को दिखाती है। वे भावविह्वल अवश्य हैं, किन्तु एक मर्यादित राजा की भाँति अब वे स्थिति का पूरा विवरण जानना चाहते हैं।
