तत्र लङ्केति नगरी रावणस्य दुरात्मनः ।
दक्षिणस्य समुद्रस्य तीरे वसति दक्षिणे ।

Translation
There, on the southern shore of the southern ocean, lies the city called Lanka, belonging to the evil-souled Ravana.

English Commentary
Hanuman provides precise military intelligence answering Rama’s query about location.
