स दर्भं संस्तराद् गृह्य ब्रह्मास्त्रेण ह्ययोजयः ।
स दीप्त इव कालाग्निर्जज्वालाभिमुखः खगम् ।

Sa darbhaṃ saṃstarād gṛhya brahmāstreṇa hyayojayaḥ । Sa dīpta iva kālāgnirjajvālābhimukhaḥ khagam । । 5.67.12 । । ॥5-67-12॥
Translation
"Taking a blade of darbha grass from your seat, you charged it with the Brahmastra. That blade flared up like the fire of cosmic destruction, facing the bird."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"आपने अपने आसन (चटाई) से एक दर्भ (कुशा का तिनका) खींचकर उसे ब्रह्मास्त्र के मंत्र से अभिमंत्रित किया। वह तिनका प्रलयकाल की अग्नि के समान जलता हुआ उस पक्षी के सामने प्रज्वलित हो उठा।"
English Commentary
This verse demonstrates Rama's omnipotence. He did not need his bow or a physical arrow; a simple blade of grass (Darbha) sufficed when empowered by his will and mantra. He invoked the Brahmastra, the ultimate weapon of destruction. The comparison to Kalagni (the fire of end-times) illustrates the terrified intensity of the weapon. It signifies that the power lies in the wielder, not just the tool; in Rama's hands, even grass becomes a thunderbolt.

यह प्रभु श्रीराम की सर्वशक्तिमत्ता का प्रमाण है। उन्हें किसी धनुष-बाण की आवश्यकता नहीं पड़ी; उन्होंने एक साधारण घास के तिनके ('दर्भ') को ही ब्रह्मांड के सबसे विनाशकारी अस्त्र 'ब्रह्मास्त्र' में बदल दिया। यह उनकी योग-शक्ति और मंत्र-सिद्धि को दर्शाता है। वह तिनका 'कालाग्नि' (प्रलय की आग) के समान धधकने लगा। यह दृश्य भयावह था और जयन्त के विनाश का संकेत दे रहा था।
