पुनरेवागतस्त्रस्तस्त्वकाशमरिन्दम ।
स तं निपतितं भूमौ शरण्यः शरणागतम् ।

Punarevāgatastrastastvakāśamarindama । Sa taṃ nipatitaṃ bhūmau śaraṇyaḥ śaraṇāgatam । । 5.67.15 । । ॥5-67-15॥
Translation
"O Tamer of Enemies! Terrified, he came back to your very presence. As he fell on the ground seeking refuge, you, who are the refuge of all..."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"हे अरिन्दम (शत्रुओं का दमन करने वाले)! भयभीत होकर वह फिर आप ही के पास लौट आया। पृथ्वी पर गिरकर शरण मांगते हुए उस कौए को, आप जो शरण देने वालों में श्रेष्ठ हैं..."
English Commentary
Realizing there was no escape, Jayanta returned to the source of his fear. Addressing Rama as Arindama (Subduer of foes), the verse describes Jayanta falling flat on the ground (Nipatitam bhumau) in total surrender. Rama is described as Sharanyah—the one capable of affording protection. It highlights the dual nature of the Divine: the terrifying punisher and the ultimate sanctuary. The only way to stop the Brahmastra was to surrender to its wielder.

जब तीनों लोकों में कहीं जगह नहीं मिली, तो जयन्त को समझ आ गया कि मुक्ति केवल उसी के चरणों में है जिसने दंड दिया है। वह 'त्रस्त' (भयभीत) होकर राम के पास लौटा और 'निपतितं भूमौ' (जमीन पर गिर पड़ा)। राम को यहाँ 'शरण्यः' (शरण देने योग्य) कहा गया है। यह शरणागति का सिद्धांत है—ईश्वर के कोप से बचने का एकमात्र उपाय ईश्वर की शरण ही है।
