Evamastravidāṃ śreṣṭhaḥ sattvavāñchīlavānapi । Kimarthamastraṃ rakṣassu na yojayati Rāghavaḥ । । 5.67.19 । । ॥5-67-19॥
Translation
"Thus, being the best among the knowers of weapons, strong, and virtuous, for what reason does Raghava not use his weapons against the Rakshasas?"
हिंदी अनुवाद
"इस प्रकार अस्त्र वेत्ताओं में श्रेष्ठ, बलवान और शीलवान होते हुए भी राघव (राम) राक्षसों पर अस्त्र का प्रयोग क्यों नहीं कर रहे हैं?"
English Commentary
Sita pivots from the past memory to her present misery. She poses a challenging question: If Rama is indeed the best among wielders of weapons (Astravidam shreshthah) and possesses such power, why is he holding back against the Rakshasas? This is the crux of her message. She contrasts the swift punishment of the crow for a minor physical injury with the delayed response to her abduction. It is a desperate plea disguised as a question, urging Rama to unleash that same power to rescue her.

अब सीता जी मुख्य प्रश्न पर आती हैं। वह तर्क देती हैं: यदि राम ने एक छोटी सी खरोंच के लिए इन्द्र के पुत्र पर ब्रह्मास्त्र चला दिया था, तो अब जब उनकी पत्नी को रावण ने हर लिया है और राक्षस इतना सता रहे हैं, तो वे शांत क्यों हैं? क्या उनका बल ('सत्त्ववान्') या उनका चरित्र ('शीलवान') कम हो गया है? यह प्रश्न राम की क्षमता पर संदेह नहीं, बल्कि उनकी 'उदासीनता' पर एक प्रेमपूर्ण उलाहना (शिकायत) है। सीता चाहती हैं कि हनुमान यह व्यथा राम तक पहुँचाएँ।
