Idamuktavatī devī Jānakī puruṣarṣabha । Pūrvavṛttamabhijñānaṃ Citrakūṭe yathātatham । । 5.67.2 । । ॥5-67-2॥
Translation
(Hanuman said:) O Best among men, the divine Janaki recounted this past incident that occurred at Chitrakoot exactly as it happened, to serve as a token of recognition.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(हनुमान जी बोले:) हे पुरुषश्रेष्ठ! देवी जानकी ने पहचान के लिए चित्रकूट में घटित पहले की एक घटना, जो जैसी हुई थी, ठीक वैसी ही बताई है।
English Commentary
Hanuman begins the narration of the Abhijyana (token of recognition). He addresses Rama as Purusharshabha (Bull among men). He clarifies that Sita recited an incident from their days at Chitrakoot Yathatatham (exactly as it happened). This accuracy is crucial because it serves as the ultimate proof of Hanuman’s visit. Only the couple was privy to this intimate moment, ensuring Rama that the message comes directly from his wife and not a deception by the Rakshasas.

हनुमान जी भूमिका बांधते हुए कहते हैं कि सीता जी ने 'अभिज्ञान' (पहचान) के रूप में एक नितांत निजी घटना का उल्लेख किया है। 'चित्रकूटे' शब्द उस समय की याद दिलाता है जब राम और सीता वनवास के आरंभिक, अपेक्षाकृत सुखद दिनों में थे। हनुमान जी 'यथातथम्' शब्द का प्रयोग करते हैं, जिसका अर्थ है 'बिलकुल वैसा ही जैसा घटित हुआ था'। यह प्रमाण है कि हनुमान वास्तव में सीता से मिले हैं, क्योंकि चित्रकूट की उस एकांत घटना को राम और सीता के अतिरिक्त कोई तीसरा नहीं जानता था।
