निर्पिक्षमाणः सहसा वायसं समवैक्षथाः ।

Nirīkṣamāṇaḥ sahasā vāyasaṃ samavaikṣathāḥ । Nakhaiḥ sarudharaistīkṣṇaistāmevābhimukhaṃ sthitam । । 5.67.9 । । ॥5-67-9॥
Translation
"Looking around, you suddenly spotted that crow, sitting right in front of her with its sharp claws stained with blood."

"इधर-उधर देखते हुए आपने सहसा उस कौए को देखा, जो अपने तीखे और खून से सने हुए नखों के साथ सीता के सामने ही बैठा था।"
English Commentary
Rama scans the surroundings and spots the culprit immediately. The crow was brazenly sitting facing Sita (Abhimukham sthitam). The visual evidence was damning: its sharp claws (Tikshnai nakhaih) were still stained with her blood (Sarudhirai). This specific detail serves as the confirmation of the bird's guilt. The persistence of the crow, staying in front of her even after Rama woke up, illustrates the creature's audacity (later revealed to be Indra's son, Jayanta), justifying the divine weapon Rama would soon unleash.

राम ने अपराधी को खोजते हुए चारों ओर नज़र दौड़ाई और तुरंत उस कौए को पहचान लिया। कौआ 'अभिमुखं स्थितम्'—यानी अभी भी सीता के सामने ही ढिठाई से बैठा था। उसके नख तीखे ('तीक्ष्णैः') थे और सीता के रक्त से सने ('सरुधिरैः') थे, जो उसके अपराध का प्रत्यक्ष प्रमाण थे। यह दृश्य राम के क्रोध को और भड़काने वाला था। अपराधी का घटनास्थल पर ही मौजूद होना और उसके पंजों पर खून लगा होना राम के लिए तत्काल दंड देने का कारण बन गया।
