Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
पुष् आह्वयं नाम विराजमानं रत्नप्रभाभिश्च विवर्धमानम् ।
वेश्मोत्तमानां अपि चोच्चमानं महाकपिस्तत्र महाविमानम् ॥ ॥५-७-११॥
Puṣpa āhvayaṃ nāma virājamānaṃ ratnaprabhābhiśca vivardhamānam |
Veśmottamānāṃ api coccamānaṃ mahākapistatra mahāvimānam ॥5-7-11॥
Translation
There, the great monkey saw that great aerial chariot named 'Pushpaka' situated in splendor. It was enhanced by the radiance of gems, and it held a high esteem (or height) even among the best of mansions.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वहां महाकपि (हनुमान) ने उस 'पुष्पक' नाम वाले विशाल विमान को देखा, जो विराजमान (स्थित) था। वह रत्नों की प्रभा से और अधिक बढ़ रहा (चमक रहा) था, और श्रेष्ठ भवनों में भी उसका स्थान सबसे ऊँचा (उच्चमान) था।
English Commentary
The vehicle is explicitly named 'Pushpaka' (floral, or hovering like a flower). 'Vivardhamanam' implies its splendor was amplified by the refracting light of its gems. The phrase 'veshmottamanam api chochchamanam' signifies its supremacy; it was the highest standard among all excellent structures. The juxtaposition of 'Maha-kapi' (Great Monkey) viewing the 'Maha-vimana' (Great Vehicle) sets the stage for the interaction between divine devotion and demoniacal materialism.

यहाँ विमान का नाम 'पुष्पक' (फूलों जैसा या जो फूल की तरह हल्का हो) स्पष्ट किया गया है। 'विवर्धमानम्' का अर्थ है कि रत्नों की चमक से उसका आकार या प्रभाव और भी विशाल लग रहा था। 'वेश्मोत्तमानां अपि चोच्चमानं'—अर्थात् दुनिया के सभी श्रेष्ठ महलों में इसका स्थान सर्वोपरि था। हनुमान जी, जिन्हें 'महाकपि' कहा गया है, इस 'महाविमान' को देख रहे हैं—दो महान सत्ताओं (एक भक्त, एक वैभव) का आमना-सामना।
