Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
नारीप्रवेकैरिव दीप्यमानं तडिद्भिरम्भोदवदर्च्यमानम् ।
हंसप्रवेकैरिव वाह्यमानं श्रिया युतं खे सुकृतां विमानम् ॥ ॥५-७-७॥
Nārīpravekairiva dīpyamānaṃ taḍidbhirambhodavadarcyamānam |
Haṃsapravekairiva vāhyamānaṃ śriyā yutaṃ khe sukṛtāṃ vimānam ॥5-7-7॥
Translation
It shone with excellent women just as a cloud is worshipped (illuminated) by lightning. It seemed to be carried by excellent swans. Filled with splendor, it looked like the aerial chariot of the virtuous in the sky.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह (विमान) श्रेष्ठ नारियों की उपस्थिति से ऐसे चमक रहा था जैसे बिजली से बादल। वह श्रेष्ठ हंसों द्वारा ढोया जा रहा था (या हंसों की आकृतियों से युक्त था)। वह आकाश में पुण्य आत्माओं के विमान की तरह शोभा से युक्त था।
English Commentary
The cloud metaphor returns, identifying the beautiful women within the Vimana as the lightning ('tadit') that illuminates the cloud. 'Hamsa-pravekairiva vahymanam' suggests it was borne by excellent swans—either literal magical swans, mechanical ones, or artistic motifs representing propulsion. The comparison to 'sukritam vimanam' (chariot of the virtuous) elevates its status, suggesting it possessed a divine, celestial quality usually reserved for the transport of souls who have performed great merit, reinforcing its stolen divine origin (from Kubera).
