Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
तदप्रमेयाप्रतिकारकृत्रिमं कृतं स्वयं साध्विति विश्वकर्मणा ।
दिवं गतं वायुपथप्रतिष्ठितं व्यराजतादित्यपथस्य लक्ष्मिवत् ॥ ॥५-८-२॥
Tadaprameyāpratikārakṛtrimaṃ kṛtaṃ svayaṃ sādhviti viśvakarmaṇā । Divaṃ gataṃ vāyupathapratiṣṭhitaṃ vyarājatādityapathasya lakṣmivat ॥ ॥5-8-2॥
Translation
That Vimana was immeasurable and of incomparable workmanship. Vishvakarma himself made it and praised it, saying, "It is perfect." Hovering in the sky (or reaching the sky), it shone like the glory of the sun's path.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह (विमान) अप्रमेय (जिसकी माप न ली जा सके) और अद्वितीय शिल्पवाला था। स्वयं विश्वकर्मा ने इसे बनाकर कहा था—"यह साधु (बहुत सुंदर) बना है।" वह आकाश में स्थित होकर सूर्य-मार्ग की शोभा (लक्ष्मी) के समान विराज रहा था।
English Commentary
This verse clarifies the origin of the Pushpaka: it was crafted by 'Vishvakarma', the divine architect, who himself declared it 'Sadhviti' ('It is good/perfect'), indicating it was his magnum opus. 'Vayupatha-pratishthitam' implies it was stationed in the air, possibly hovering above the ground. Its brilliance is compared to the glory of the sun's path, reinforcing its celestial nature and the blinding light reflecting off its jeweled surface.

यहाँ स्पष्ट किया गया है कि पुष्पक का निर्माता 'विश्वकर्मा' (देवताओं के शिल्पी) थे, न कि मय दानव। उन्होंने इसे बनाकर स्वयं अपनी पीठ थपथपाई थी ('साध्विति' - यह अच्छा है)। 'वायुपथप्रतिष्ठितं' का अर्थ है कि यह जमीन पर नहीं, बल्कि हवा में तैर रहा था (hovering technology)। इसकी तुलना 'आदित्यपथस्य लक्ष्मी' (सूर्य मार्ग की शोभा) से की गई है, जो इसकी तेजोमय उपस्थिति को सिद्ध करती है।
