विद्रुमेण विचित्रेण मणिभिश्च महाधनैः ।
विस्तुलाभिश्च मुक्ताभिस्तलेनाभिविराजितम् ॥ ॥५-९-१७॥
Vidrumeṇa vicitreṇa maṇibhiśca mahādhanaiḥ । Vistulābhiśca muktābhistalenābhivirājitam ॥ ॥5-9-17॥
Translation
It was embellished with a floor inlaid with variegated coral, expensive gems, and pearls of great value.

वह विमान विचित्र मूंगों (विद्रुम) से, बहुमूल्य मणियों से और श्रेष्ठ मोतियों से जड़े हुए फर्श (तल) से सुशोभित था।
English Commentary
This verse describes the flooring (tala) of the aerial chariot. It is inlaid with vidruma (coral) described as vicitra (variegated or wonderful), along with mahādhanaiḥ maṇibhiḥ (gems of great price) and muktābhiḥ (pearls). The adjective vistulābhiḥ for the pearls suggests they were large, round, and of high quality. The combination of red coral, white pearls, and multi-colored gems suggests an intricate, terrazzo-like flooring that was precious to walk upon, further emphasizing the excessive opulence where even the ground one treads is jeweled.

अब दृष्टि विमान के फर्श (तलेन) पर जाती है। यहाँ 'विद्रुम' (मूंगा/Coral) का उल्लेख है जो 'विचित्र' (रंग-बिरंगा/विविध) है। साथ में 'महाधनैः मणिभिः' (अत्यंत कीमती मणियाँ) और 'विस्तुलाभिश्च मुक्ताभिः' (अतुलनीय/गोल-मटोल मोतियों) का प्रयोग हुआ है। फर्श का मोज़ेक (Mosaic) जैसा काम मूंगा (लाल), मोती (सफेद) और मणियों (विभिन्न रंग) से बना था। 'अभिविराजितम्' का अर्थ है कि यह फर्श अत्यंत शोभायमान हो रहा था। रावण के वैभव में समुद्र (मोती/मूंगा) और पृथ्वी (रत्न) दोनों का धन लगा था।
