चन्दनेन च रक्तेन तपनीयनिभेन च ।
सुपुण्यगन्धिना युक्तमादित्यतरुणोपमम् ॥ ॥५-९-१८॥
Candanena ca raktena tapanīyanibhena ca । Supuṇyagandhinā yuktamādityataruṇopamam ॥ ॥5-9-18॥
Translation
It was fragrant with red sandalwood which looked like refined gold and had a very holy scent, and it resembled the morning sun.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह विमान तपाए हुए सोने के समान रंग वाले और अत्यंत पवित्र सुगंध वाले लाल चंदन से युक्त था, और बाल-सूर्य (उगते हुए सूरज) के समान दिखाई देता था।
English Commentary
The sensory description expands from visual to olfactory. The Vimana is scented with rakta chandana (red sandalwood). Interestingly, the wood itself is described as tapanīya-nibhena (resembling refined gold/glowing metal), merging the visual of the reddish-gold wood with the structure's overall golden hue. The scent is su-puṇya-gandhinā (of very holy/pure fragrance), suggesting a divine atmosphere despite its demonic current owner. The overall visual effect of the reddish-gold glow makes the Vimana resemble the āditya-taruṇa (the young or morning sun), symbolizing rising power and brilliance.

यहाँ विमान की 'गंध' और 'रंग' का समन्वय है। विमान में 'रक्त चंदन' (लाल चंदन) का उपयोग हुआ था, जिसका रंग 'तपनीय' (तपाए हुए सोने/तांबे जैसा) था। इसकी सुगंध को 'सुपुण्यगन्धि' (अत्यंत पवित्र गंध) कहा गया है। लाल चंदन की शीतलता और सुगंध वातावरण को रमणीय बनाती है। इन सब गुणों के कारण विमान 'आदित्य-तरुण-उपमम्' (तरुण सूर्य/बाल रवि) जैसा लग रहा था—लालिमा लिए हुए सुनहरा और तेजस्वी। यह उपमा विमान की ऊर्जा और जीवंतता को दर्शाती है।
