इमानि मुख पद्मानि नियतम् मत्त षट्पदाः ।
अम्बुजानि इव फुल्लानि प्रार्थयन्ति पुनः पुनः ॥ ॥५-९-३९॥
Imāni mukha padmāni niyatam matta ṣaṭpadāḥ । Ambujāni iva phullāni prārthayanti punaḥ punaḥ ॥ ॥5-9-39॥
Translation
Surely, intoxicated bees seek these lotus-faces again and again, mistaking them for full-blown water lilies.
हिंदी अनुवाद
निश्चित ही मतवाले भँवरे इन मुख-कमलों को खिला हुआ कमल समझकर बार-बार इनकी ओर आकर्षित होते होंगे (या इनकी कामना करते होंगे)।
English Commentary
Hanuman indulges in a poetic inference here. He reasons that the resemblance of these women's faces to lotuses is so perfect that it must deceive the bees. The phrase 'intoxicated bees' (matta ṣaṭpadāḥ) implies that the beauty is bewildering and irresistible. This uses the literary device of Bhrantiman (confusion/mistake), where one object is mistaken for another due to extreme similarity. It serves to heighten the description of their allure, suggesting that their beauty is organic and potent enough to interact with and confuse the natural world.

यह 'भ्रांतिमान अलंकार' और 'अतिशयोक्ति' का सुंदर मिश्रण है। रानियों के मुख इतने सुंदर और सुगंधित हैं कि प्रकृति के जीव (भँवरे) भी भ्रमित हो जाते हैं। हनुमान जी सोचते हैं कि दिन के समय अवश्य ही भँवरे इन्हें असली कमल समझकर इनका रसपान करने के लिए मंडराते होंगे। 'मत्त षट्पदाः' (मतवाले भँवरे) शब्द का प्रयोग यह दर्शाता है कि उनका सौंदर्य नशीला और मोहक है। यह श्लोक स्त्रियों के सौंदर्य की स्वाभाविकता को स्थापित करता है—कि उनका रूप कृत्रिम प्रसाधनों का मोहताज नहीं है, बल्कि इतना जीवंत है कि प्रकृति भी धोखा खा जाए।
