ववल्गुः च अत्र कासाम्चित् कुण्डलानि शुभ अर्चिषाम् ।
मुख मारुत सम्सर्गान् मन्दम् मन्दम् सुयोषिताम् ॥ ॥५-९-५६॥
vavalguḥ ca atra kāsāmcit kuṇḍalāni śubha arciṣām |
mukha māruta samsargān mandam mandam suyoṣitām ॥5-9-56॥
Translation
Here, the earrings of some of those beautiful women, possessing a sacred luster, swung gently due to the contact with the breath from their mouths.

वहाँ किन्हीं सुंदर स्त्रियों के मुख की वायु (श्वास) के संपर्क से, उनकी शुभ कांति वाले कुंडल भी धीरे-धीरे हिल रहे थे।
English Commentary
Returning to the motif of mukha māruta (breath), this verse focuses on the movement of the earrings (kuṇḍalāni). Unlike the light fabric mentioned earlier, earrings are generally heavier. The fact that they were swinging (vavalguḥ) gently (mandam mandam) solely due to the force of the breath highlights the rhythmic power of their respiration. The phrase śubha arciṣām (of auspicious/holy luster) describes the earrings, suggesting they were of high quality and perhaps possessed a divine glow. This minute detail—the gentle oscillation of gems in time with breathing—creates a hypnotic, serene visual for the observer (Hanuma) and the reader.

यह श्लोक पुनः श्वास के प्रभाव का वर्णन करता है, किन्तु यहाँ वस्त्रों के स्थान पर 'कुंडल' (earrings) का उल्लेख है। 'ववल्गुः' क्रिया (हिलना/दोलन करना) का प्रयोग सुंदर है। चूँकि कुंडल धातु और रत्नों के बने होते हैं और भारी होते हैं, उनका श्वास मात्र से हिलना यह बताता है कि वे कुंडल बहुत नाजुक संतुलन में लटके थे और श्वास का प्रवाह तीव्र था। 'मन्दम् मन्दम्' (धीरे-धीरे) का प्रयोग एक लयबद्ध गति को दर्शाता है। यह रावण की पत्नियों के आभूषणों की दिव्यता (शुभ अर्चिषाम्) और वातावरण की नीरवता को भी इंगित करता है, जहाँ एक छोटी सी हरकत भी स्पष्ट दिखाई दे रही है।
