यो वीर्यबलसंपन्नो द्विषद्भिरनिवारितः ।
प्रविष्टः सत्त्वमाश्रित्य श्वसन् को नाम निष्क्रमेत् ॥६-१-५॥
yo vīryabalasaṃpanno dviṣadbhiranivāritaḥ । praviṣṭaḥ sattvamāśritya śvasan ko nāma niṣkramet ॥6-1-5॥
Translation
Who indeed, even if endowed with valor and strength, could enter there without being stopped by enemies, and relying on his own prowess, come out alive (breathing)?
हिंदी अनुवाद
ऐसा कौन है जो वीर्य और बल से संपन्न हो, शत्रुओं द्वारा रोका न जा सके, और (शत्रु के घर में) प्रवेश करके अपने बल (सत्त्व) का आश्रय ले, जीवित (श्वसन) बाहर निकल सके?
English Commentary
Shri Rama poses a rhetorical question to emphasize the rarity of Hanuman's feat. Entering a hostile territory is one thing; exiting it alive ('śvasan' - breathing) after engaging the enemy is another. The phrase 'sattvamāśritya' implies relying on one's own inner essence, courage, and strength when isolated from all support. Shri Rama highlights that while many warriors possess strength ('bal'), the combination of successful infiltration, survival against check ('anivāritaḥ'), and successful exfiltration is unique to Hanuman. It is a testament to Hanuman being the ultimate spy and warrior combined.

यहाँ श्री राम एक अलंकारिक प्रश्न पूछते हैं जिसका उत्तर स्वयं हनुमान हैं। लंका में प्रवेश करना एक चुनौती थी, लेकिन वहां से जीवित लौटना ('श्वसन' - साँस लेते हुए) उससे भी बड़ी चुनौती थी। अक्सर वीर युद्ध में प्रवेश तो कर जाते हैं, परंतु चक्रव्यूह से निकल नहीं पाते। हनुमान जी ने न केवल प्रवेश किया, बल्कि 'सत्त्वमाश्रित्य' (अपने आत्मबल और धैर्य का आश्रय लेकर) सीता की खोज की, लंका दहन किया और शत्रुओं को परास्त कर वापस लौटे। 'अनिवारितः' (बिना रोके गए) शब्द उनकी अजेयता को दर्शाता है। यह श्लोक हनुमान जी की 'अतिजीविता' (survival instincts) और 'पराक्रम' का अद्भुत मिश्रण प्रस्तुत करता है।
