को विशेत्सुदुराधर्षां राक्षसैश्च सुरक्षिताम् ।
यो वीर्यबलसंपन्नो न समः स्याद्धनूमतः ॥६-१-६॥
ko viśetsudurādharṣāṃ rākṣasaiśca surakṣitām । yo vīryabalasaṃpanno na samaḥ syāddhanūmataḥ ॥6-1-6॥
Translation
Who could enter that city, which is extremely difficult to assault and well-guarded by Rakshasas, unless he is equal to Hanuman in valor and strength?

राक्षसों द्वारा भली-भांति सुरक्षित और अत्यंत कठिनता से जीते जाने योग्य उस लंका में कौन प्रवेश कर सकता है, यदि वह वीर्य और बल में हनुमान के समान न हो?
English Commentary
Shri Rama establishes Hanuman as the 'Standard' against whom all valor is measured. The conditional clause—'unless he is equal to Hanuman'—suggests that Hanuman has defined a new class of warrior capability. The repetition of Lanka's guarded nature ('surakṣitām') serves to amplify the competence of the one who breached it. Scholarly, this prepares the audience (and the monkey army) to accept Hanuman's leadership and crucial role in the upcoming war. Devotionally, it implies that to enter the fortress of the Divine Mystery, one requires the qualities of Hanuman: devotion, strength, and humility.

श्री राम बार-बार हनुमान जी की तुलना 'अद्वितीय' रूप में कर रहे हैं। इस श्लोक का भाव यह है कि लंका में प्रवेश के लिए केवल बल पर्याप्त नहीं है, उसके लिए 'हनुमान जैसा' होना आवश्यक है। यहाँ हनुमान एक मानक (benchmark) बन गए हैं। 'सुदुराधर्षां' (अत्यंत कठिनाई से दबने योग्य) विशेषण लंका की भीषणता को पुनः रेखांकित करता है। श्री राम यह स्पष्ट कर रहे हैं कि सुग्रीव की सेना में अन्य वीर भी हैं, किन्तु इस विशिष्ट कार्य (समुद्र लंघन और लंका प्रवेश) के लिए हनुमान की समता ('न समः') कोई नहीं कर सकता। यह भक्त की अनन्य महिमा का गान है।
