प्रमदाजनसंबाधं प्रजल्पितमहापथम् ।
तप्तकाञ्चननिर्यूहं भूषणोत्तमभूषितम् ॥६-१०-५॥
pramadājanasaṃbādhaṃ prajalpitamahāpatham । taptakāñcananiryūhaṃ bhūṣaṇottamabhūṣitam ॥6-10-5॥
Translation
It was crowded with beautiful women, the main paths were noisy with chatter, it had turrets of refined gold, and was decorated with excellent ornaments.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह (महल) प्रमदा (सुंदर स्त्रियों) की भीड़ से भरा था, मुख्य मार्गों पर बातचीत का शोर था, तपाए हुए सोने के तोरण (निर्यूह) थे और वह उत्तम आभूषणों से सजा था।
English Commentary
Luxury and Opulence. The mention of women ('pramada') and gold ('kanchana') paints a picture of a wealthy, hedonistic society. It contrasts the upcoming destruction with current prosperity.

विलास और वैभव। 'प्रमदाजन' (स्त्रियाँ) और 'कांचन' (सोना) रावण के भोग-विलास को दर्शाते हैं। लंका केवल एक किला नहीं, बल्कि एक समृद्ध महानगर भी है।
