तान् मुक्तमात्रानाकाशे लक्ष्मणेन धनुष्मता ।
बाणान् बाणैर्महातेजा रावणः प्रत्यवारयत् ॥६-१००-१९॥
tān muktamātrānākāśe lakṣmaṇena dhanuṣmatā |
bāṇān bāṇairmahātejā rāvaṇaḥ pratyavārayat ॥6-100-19॥
Translation
As soon as those arrows were released by the archer Lakshmana, the highly resplendent Ravana intercepted/countered them in the sky with his own arrows.
हिंदी अनुवाद
धनुर्धर लक्ष्मण द्वारा छोड़े गए उन बाणों को आकाश में ही महातेजस्वी रावण ने अपने बाणों से रोक दिया (काट दिया)।
English Commentary
Ravana displays supreme archery skills by neutralizing Lakshmana's attack mid-air ('ākāśe'). He doesn't just block; he intercepts arrows with arrows. This proves that despite his villainy, Ravana is a warrior of the highest caliber ('mahātejā').

रावण की युद्ध कुशलता यहाँ दिखाई देती है। उसने लक्ष्मण के बाणों को धरती पर गिरने से पहले, 'आकाश में ही' (आकाशे) काट दिया। यह 'महातेजा' रावण की शीघ्रता और सटीकता (precision) का प्रमाण है।
