निहतानाममात्यानां रुद्धस्य नगरस्य च ।
दुःखमेषो ऽपनेष्यामि हत्वा तौ रामलक्ष्मणौ ॥६-१००-३॥
nihatānāmamātyānāṃ ruddhasya nagarasya ca |
duḥkhameṣo 'paneṣyāmi hatvā tau rāmalakṣmaṇau ॥6-100-3॥
Translation
"I shall remove the grief caused by the killing of my ministers and the siege of the city by killing those two, Shri Rama and Lakshmana."

मारे गए मंत्रियों और नगर की घेराबंदी (अवरोध) से उत्पन्न हुए दुःख को, मैं उन दोनों—श्री राम और लक्ष्मण को मारकर दूर करूँगा।
English Commentary
Ravana articulates the objective of his assault: vengeance and liberation. He carries the heavy grief of losing his ministers ('amātyānāṃ') and the humiliation of his city being besieged ('ruddhasya nagarasya').
