ततः संसक्तहस्तस्तु रावणो लोकरावणः ।
नाराचमालां रामस्य ललाटे प्रत्यमुञ्चत ॥६-१००-३४॥
tataḥ saṃsaktahastastu rāvaṇo lokarāvaṇaḥ |
nārācamālāṃ rāmasya lalāṭe pratyamuñcata ॥6-100-34॥
Translation
Then Ravana, the tormentor of the worlds, with a steady/skilled hand, released a garland/series of Naraca (iron) arrows at Shri Rama's forehead.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब लोकों को रुलाने वाले रावण ने हाथ की सफाई (संसक्तहस्त) दिखाते हुए श्रीश्री राम के ललाट पर नाराच बाणों की माला (पंक्ति) छोड़ दी।
English Commentary
Ravana lives up to his name 'Lokarāvaṇa' (he who makes the world cry). He targets the head ('lalāṭe'), aiming for a kill shot. The 'garland of Naracas' implies a continuous stream of heavy iron arrows hitting the same spot, testing Shri Rama's invulnerability.

रावण का एक नाम 'लोकरावण' (लोकों को रुलाने वाला) है। उसने 'नाराच' (लोहे के भारी बाण) चलाए। लक्ष्य 'ललाट' (माथा) था। बाणों की 'माला' का अर्थ है कि उसने निरंतर कई बाण एक ही स्थान पर मारे। यह अत्यंत घातक प्रहार था।
