Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
रौद्रचापप्रयुक्तां तां नीलोत्पलदलप्रभाम् ।
शिरसा धारयन् रामो न व्यथां प्रत्यपद्यत ॥६-१००-३५॥
raudracāpaprayuktāṃ tāṃ nīlotpaladalaprabhām |
śirasā dhārayan rāmo na vyathāṃ pratyapadyata ॥6-100-35॥
Translation
Bearing on his head that garland of arrows shot from a terrible bow, which shone like blue lotus petals, Shri Rama felt no pain.
हिंदी अनुवाद
भयानक धनुष से छोड़ी गई, नीलकमल की पंखुड़ी जैसी आभा वाली उस बाण-माला को सिर पर धारण करते हुए भी श्रीश्री राम को कोई पीड़ा नहीं हुई।
English Commentary
A miraculous event: Ravana's lethal iron arrows strike Shri Rama but cause no pain ('na vyathāṃ'). They are compared to 'blue lotus petals', suggesting that upon touching the divine form of Shri Rama, the weapons lost their sting or Shri Rama bore them with the grace of wearing a floral garland. It signifies the dominance of spirit over matter.
हिंदी टीका
यह श्लोक श्रीश्री राम की अलौकिक शक्ति को दिखाता है। रावण के भयानक बाण भी श्रीश्री राम को स्पर्श करते ही 'नीलकमल की पंखुड़ी' (नीलोत्पलदल) जैसे कोमल हो गए, या श्रीश्री राम ने उन्हें फूल की माला की तरह धारण कर लिया। उन्हें कोई 'व्यथा' (पीड़ा) नहीं हुई। यह रावण के अहंकार पर चोट है।
